Vice President – Accounting

Prior to joining Finial Group in 2021, Mr. Evans was the Brokerage Transaction Manager for Cushman & Wakefield where he was responsible for the accounting and reporting for the Houston office agency leasing portfolio.  Mr. Evans served as the Contoller for Colvill Office Properties from 2017 until it was acquired by Cushman & Wakefield in 2020.  As Controller, Mr. Evans was responsible for the entire accounting function of the company including creating annual budgets, recording all transactions in the general ledger, preparing monthly budget vs. actual reports to be reviewed with owners, managing cash balances in deposit and disbursement accounts, providing financial statements to the company’s tax firm and reviewing IRS filings for the company and owners.  Mr. Evans was also responsible for tracking commissions due to each broker and reporting payroll totals for all employees to the company’s PEO provider.  Mr. Evans also served as the company’s 401(k) plan administrator where he worked with an advisory group to review the plan’s investment options and maintain compliance with applicable regulations.

Prior to joining Colvill Office Properties, Mr. Evans was the Financial Reporting Manager at Era Helicopters, one of the largest helicopter operators in the world, from 2014-2017.  There, he was responsible for preparing and filing all SEC reports and monthly internal management reports as well as tracking and accounting for equity compensation and capital accounts.  Mr. Evans also served as the administrator for Era’s Hyperion Financial Management reporting software where he served as the point person on the implementation HFM on Era’s network and was responsible for maintaining general ledger accounts and coding restrictions.

Prior to joining Era Helicopters, Mr. Evans was a Senior Accountant and later Financial Reporting Manager at AmREIT from 2008-2014 where he was responsible for internal and external financial reporting and facilitating the annual audits and quarterly reviews for three SEC registrants.  Mr. Evans also assisted in AmREIT’s IPO by preparing schedules included in the SEC filings and working with underwriter’s legal counsel to verify all data included in the filings.

Mr. Evans began his career as an Auditor at Deloitte & Touche from 2005-2008 where his clients included Fannie Mae, Sterling Bank, Prosperity Bank and Litton Loan Servicing.

Mr. Evans graduated with a BBA-Accounting and Master of Accountancy from Baylor University and is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Texas.
