Jack Gaffney

Jack Gaffney is a Director at Finial Group, where he leads the firm’s acquisitions program, as well as plays a role in managing key relationships and assisting with value-add initiatives. He serves on Finial’s Investment Committee, acting as a liaison between the IC and brokerage team, and leads weekly firmwide acquisition meetings across all five offices.
Jack’s responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and approving prospective acquisitions presented to the Investment Committee
- Coordinating with all Finial business units to ensure accuracy in our underwriting efforts
- Overseeing internal programs supporting the acquisitions process
- Managing negotiations with sellers and facilitating due diligence and closings
- Conducting visits to current and future Finial markets to stay up to date on local conditions
- Executing post-closing strategies for value-add assets
- Collaborating with the Investment Committee to determine optimal exit strategies
- Leading Finial’s new market expansion initiatives through research and analysis
Since joining Finial in July 2018, Jack has been instrumental in the execution of over 3.41 million square feet of acquisitions and sales, and 1.79 million square feet of leasing transactions. He has led the full deployment of two investment funds and has been a key player in Finial’s growth across the Southern U.S.—from launching the San Antonio office in 2019 to supporting expansion into Atlanta and Nashville. His nationwide presence – specifically in the single-tenant industrial asset class – has continued to grow, as he’s now led transactions across nine different states.
Jack earned the prestigious SIOR designation in 2023, a recognition held by the top professionals in commercial real estate globally.
Originally from Washington, DC, Jack moved to Austin in 2014 to attend the University of Texas, graduating with honors in Economics and a Certificate in Business Honors. During his time at UT, he was a member of the Silver Spurs, a volunteer tutor at local elementary schools, and actively involved in community service. Prior to Finial, Jack worked in real estate investment and finance.
