ACRP Makes Great Strides in Support of Cystic Fibrosis
The members of the Association of Commercial Real Estate Professionals (ACRP) gathered at the Houston Zoo in support of Great Strides, the largest national fundraising event raising awareness for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF).
Built on a foundation of giving back, ACRP is an active community advocate participating in multiple
philanthropy-driven events throughout each calendar year. The professionals’ group joined forces with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Texas Gulf Chapter, with 20+ volunteers hitting the pavement for a 5K walk throughout the 55-acre Houston Zoo. Marking ACRP’s first event with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the commercial real estate organization raised over $1,800 in charitable donations.
“You couldn’t ask for a more beautiful day or a better venue for such a wonderful family-friendly event,” states Randy Young, ACRP’s Community Affairs Director.
“Cystic Fibrosis is a disease that has touched the lives of many – many ACRP members are either directly affected in some capacity or know someone that is. We are proud to be a part of this great event and even more importantly, contribute towards research that will hopefully lead to the discovery of a cure for cystic fibrosis.
As the largest national fundraising event for the CFF, Great Strides assembles more than 125,000 participants across 500 cities coast to coast — donating 100% of proceeds to innovate medical research, essential to finding a cure for this rare and life-shortening disease. Eclipsing efforts of the 2016 campaign which raised $5.5 million, the CFF has reached a fundraising milestone, surpassing to-date over $16.7 million in national donations.
ACRP celebrates the opportunity to give back the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and looks forward to future community service events to come. For more information or to get involved, visit www.acrp.org.
